We also convinced her to frame some of her artwork, so you have the chance to purchase a one-off original watercolour this year too.

The Gently Unfurling Sneak is the work of Melbourne artist-designer Anika Cook, who started the business in 2006 after discovering that her Creative Arts degree rendered her completely unqualified for actual jobs.

Anika likes small touches of absurdity, vintage illustrations, old paper and books, bright colours, and stripes, but even more than that, she like putting all those things into her printed clothing, accessories and artworks. All products are happily made in Australia using the finest natural fibres, sustainably grown bamboo, and occasionally the back of an apple box that was found down the road.

Hi, my name is Andrea and Stampel is the label under which I create. I began Stampel in 2011, after moving to the country in 2010 to be closer to my family and for some fresher air. I experimented creatively with a range of reclaimed materials coming up with a few product ideas initially. Since then my practices and works have been growing. Expect to see a diverse range of materials and mediums within my works in the future.

Stämpel is Swedish for Stamp, and came to be my label name after returning from Japan with some new chisels and a wood block printing obsession and I have always loved all things Swedish (except pickled fish).

I make everything myself (with occasional help from my talented furniture maker man, Duncan) in our home studio in Bendigo, Victoria.

One day in 2011, while Lani Sommer was in her 2nd year studying Textile Design at RMIT, she thought about her dilemma. She had found herself in the troubling position of being both “without bag”* and “without cash”. What she did have on her side however was an abundance of wool yarn, a knitting machine, and a penchant for procrastination.

The happy outcome of this was the original Soft Shocks shoulder bag!

Klaus Goods handcraft leather and canvas carry goods and other functional accessories in Melbourne, Australia. All Klaus products are constructed using the finest Australian vegetable tanned leather and waxed canvas. Our products are designed and made in our Melbourne studio where they are individually cut, hand sewn with Irish waxed linen thread, burnished and, finally, nourished with Australian bee’s wax. We are proudly free of labour exploitation and all of our products are made in Australia. Materials are sourced locally wherever possible in a bid to support local businesses and reduce our environmental impact. Klaus Goods is founded on the tenets of superlative quality, simplicity of design and durability. We work to ensure that these ideals are evident in every piece we produce.
